This review is my opinion of the light. In my opinion, this lamp is beautiful, but has several deal-killing drawbacks. First, the light does not appear exactly as depicted in this photograph. There is a glass ball that hangs below the light, which does NOT appear in this photograph at all. It materially alters the appearance of the light. There is just a slight reference to this glass ball in one of the PDF descriptions documents on this web page, but you can't see it in the photo on the same document! By the way, you can't use the supplied hardware and not include the glass ball if you prefer the flatter look that appears in this photograph.
Second, one of our lights (we bought two) came with no directions whatsoever, and the installation is not intuitive. For example, does the lamp go flush against the ceiling (with light leaking out) or down a couple of inches with light flooding out? You'll spend a lot of time trying it different ways until you make a guess you can live with. The second came with directions I thought were wholly inadequate.
Third, one of the lights had a defect with the shade that pushed the plastic lower part of the light below the lip of the shade, exposing a slight gap between the plastic and the shade. I suppose we'll have to get that replaced. Uugh.

Gives off a ton of light and looks beautiful. It's clean and simple but very elegant and a great price. Just perfect
