Formerly known as Tech Lighting, the Visual Comfort Modern Collection features a portfolio offering an expansive selection of lighting solutions for both residential and commercial applications. These indoor and outdoor fixtures are products of the world's most talented product and interior designers.
Trouble from the get go. This fixture is lovely and matches the decor of our home perfectly. However, I cannot believe that it hasn't been recalled and discontinued by the manufacturer. Our first order had to be returned and replaced. When the second order also failed on installation by qualified, professional electricians, I drove up to the factory in Skokie for TechLighting to tell me what was wrong. What a disaster! In their controlled environment (with long mounting bars in a rooms), 3 of the 4 pendants worked. But... only when the HEAVY glass shades were balanced just so on the wire and LED module. One puff or wind or knock on the shade, and the light went out. Now, with $1,000 in electrician fees (to basically rewire and rebuild the fixtures to work), the LED modules are failing. Two of four have gone out in well under the 35,000 hours of use they're supposed to provide. At more than $70 a pop, these fixtures are quickly adding up to be the biggest waste of money in the entire house. Do yourself a favor, avoid these fixtures like the plague. And, for good measure, avoid anything made by TechLighting. I was so eager to "buy local" (from a designer in my area), but it's been nothing but headache, expense and dark spots on my kitchen counters!
