How do you use wall sconces?

When selecting a bathroom sconce for vanity lighting, for instance, you should consider the size of the mirror. If you have a small mirror (less than 28" wide), try putting one sconce on each side of the mirror, with the center of the fixture mounted 60" off the floor and about 28" apart. When choosing a wall sconce on your stairs, make sure all sides are enclosed to prevent glare. Adjustable bedroom wall sconces for reading are also popular options.
What is the best placement of wall sconces?
- - The best placement of wall sconces depends on the room and the purpose of the lighting. In general, wall sconce height should be at about eye level, typically 60" to 70" from the ground. If you are mounting wall sconces on each side of your mirror, you should mount them with the center of the fixtures about 60" high and about 28" apart. If you are mounting a bath bar above the mirror, it should be mounted about 78" high. These are generally-accepted measures. However, always consider the lumen output and the layout of your walls with door frames, corners, furniture, etc. when deciding on the placement.
