About Rico Espinet
Known for his poetic style and clean, simple lines, Rico Espient is grounded in refined industrial design. Returning to his studio in the mid-nineties, a converted elementary school, in the Amish community of New York, Espinet worked on what would become his first line of lighting - the Monk Lamp which was crafted with a microphone base, plumbing parts and an industrial machinist shade. This design appeared in an international Hunter Douglas ad that ran for a number of years in countless magazines. All of this buzz created a lengthy wait list, making Rico Espinet a highly sought after designer. Espinet has worked with other artists, including Jeffrey and Darlene Rose as well as Robert Abbey.
