The Koyoo Portable Table Lamp is a small portable lamp consisting of a round paper shade held above the rectangular base by a slim spring. An integrated LED housed within the base shines upward and is reflected off of the shade to produce pleasant indirect light. Koyoo also features a three level built-in dimmer and rechargeable battery, allowing the lamp to be placed wherever it is needed to create the perfect ambiance.

Axel Schmid was born in 1971 in Nassau, Bahamas, and received practical training in metal and woodworking before enrolling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Upon graduating in 1997, he was awarded a scholarship by the Association of German Industrial Designers to continue his studies in Japan. Schmid returned to Germany in 1998 and began working for lighting designer Ingo Maurer in Munich. In addition to lighting design, Maurer has also worked on projects and artistic installations around the world. His Jetzt Lamp (2009) for Ingo Maurer is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
