Franco Albini & Franca Helg

Franco Albini (1905-1977) and Franca Helg (1920-1989) were Italian architects and designers who frequently collaborated on projects from 1951 until Albini's death in 1977. Albini graduated from the Politecnico di Milan university in 1929 and founded his own practice in 1930, where he became a key figure in the development of Neo-Rationalist architecture. Helg completed her studies at the Politecnico di Milan in 1945 and worked in the fields of architecture and industrial design. Albini, Helg, and graphic designer Bob Noorda received the Compasso d'Oro, Italy's most prestigious design award, in 1964 for their designs of the Milan Metro Line 1 stations.
