Designed by Rosie Li Read Bio

The Stella Triangle Wall Sconce was named after artist Frank Stella and inspired by the graphic, geometric lines of his abstract paintings. The triangular sconce is accented by a mirrored glass diffuser, which reveals a series of nested geometric shapes when illuminated. Stella creates the impression of infinite space within a finite form for a unique look that will add a dramatic accent to any space.

      About Rosie Li

Born in China, Rosie Li came to the U.S. at the age of three. Early on, Li was interested in painting, drawing and sculpting. Li's childhood passion continued to grow and she later attended the prestigious, Rhode Island School of Design. She graduated with a BFA in Furniture Design (2011) and began working at Roll & Hill, a well-respected design firm. It was there that she created her first signature piece, the Stella Triangle, which debuted at Milan Design Week in 2013. Not long after working at Roll & Hill, she had the skills needed to open her own studio in Brooklyn, New York, where she and her team build fixtures that feature geometric forms and clean design.

Where did your love for geometric designs come from?

I am drawn to basic shapes and Platonic geometry as these forms are universal to our human experience. They been distilled into the purest, most unadorned form.

How would you describe your creative process?

I take a reductionist approach and simplify the designs so that the lighting designs are dynamic and combine engineering & sensitivity towards space. I find inspiration from all places: architectural facades, nature hikes, art galleries, biology notes, and even old math textbooks. I find that I always come back to Op Art if I'm ever in need of inspiration.

Tell us how you like living in Brooklyn, NY.
